HYDRA: HYbrid-Digital Rocket Architecture

HYDRA: HYbrid-Digital Rocket Architecture

HYDRA will be an advanced testing facility conceived to realistically simulate mission scenarios for reusable launch vehicles. HYDRA will provide a representative environment to evaluate, validate, and optimize Guidance and Control (G&C) algorithms under real-time realistic constraints, with the ultimate goal of improving computational efficiency, reliability, and accuracy of numerical methods. It is then meant as an intermediate testbench bridging algorithmic development and real testing.

ARGOS Lab aims at conceiving, developing and validating advanced G&C algorithms and methodologies for space systems. The lab has been founded at the Department of Industrial Engineering of the University of Bologna and funded by the European Research Council through the ERC-CoG 2024 grant "STARGATE".
